My name is Jools O’Gorman and I am an American living in the west of Ireland for nearly two decades. I practice and teach yoga , work in my garden and read lots of books.
I have been practising yoga on and off for thirty years. This started out as beginner class after beginner class for several years before settling into a twice a week class routine about 5 years ago. This slowly emerged into my own daily practice. Last year I completed my 200hr teacher training and have been teaching steadily for a year now.
For me yoga is the webbing that keeps all the parts of my life working in harmony – at least most of the time. It is like the fascia that runs through our bodies connecting all the organs and tissues and bones and joints, making us physically whole. I truly believe that every single living person can benefit from practicing yoga to their appropriate level. I also believe that many people practice aspects of yoga without even knowing it (walking in the woods and breathing in the peace, sitting down with a quiet cup of tea and your thoughts, taking a deep breath in the middle of a chaotic crisis). Practicing yoga (the poses, the breathing, the concentration, the service) not only benefits us, the practitioners, in so many ways, it also benefits those around us and the world as a whole.
This is my little online journal to mark my life on this Earth. I hope you enjoy reading it.
